The Log is a 2-elixir Legendary spell that rolls a log across one lane, knocking back troops in its path and dealing damage. At 2 elixir, it's one of the cheapest counters to ground swarms in the game and a cornerstone of Hog 2.6, Miner Poison, and Log Bait defense.
When to Play The Log
Do:
- Counter Goblin Barrel landing (wait 0.5s after landing, Log kills all 3 Goblins).
- Counter Princess at the bridge (Log range reaches her; she cannot dodge).
- Counter Goblins and Goblin Gang on tower.
- Counter Skeleton Army (Log + any troop cleans the entire swarm instantly).
Don't:
- Log flying units (it only hits ground).
- Log a single Skeleton or Minion (wasteful at 2 elixir when cheap troops suffice).
- Log a high-HP troop (it damages but doesn't kill tanks).
The Hold Discipline
The most common Log mistake: playing it reactively on the first thing that threatens your tower. Against Log Bait, your opponent wants you to play the Log on their Princess. If you do, the Goblin Barrel becomes free.
Rule: hold The Log until the Goblin Barrel is in the air, then Log on landing. This means tanking a few Princess shots to deny the Barrel follow-up.
