Goblin Barrel Clash Royale Guide — Best Placement, Log Bait & Tips 2025

The Goblin Barrel is the defining card of the Log Bait archetype — a 3-elixir epic spell that delivers 3 Goblins directly to any location on the map, including enemy towers. Landed without a counter, 3 Goblins deal massive tower damage in seconds.

The Log Bait Concept

Every card in Log Bait is designed to bait your opponent into using The Log (or Zap) on it:

• Princess: Forces the Log — now it's unavailable for the Goblin Barrel.
• Goblin Gang: Forces the Log — same result.
• Goblin Barrel: If The Log is on cooldown, the 3 Goblins land freely and deal 400–600+ tower damage.

The Barrel is only dangerous when The Log is on cooldown. Your job is to deplete it before you play the Barrel.

Placement Strategies

Standard placement: Aim at the tower's base. Goblins land on top of the tower and begin attacking immediately — no travel distance.

Corner placement: Aim at the far corner of the tower's base. Goblins land spread out — The Log's narrow width misses 1–2 of them.

Split placement: Aim between the King Tower and the Arena Tower. If the opponent Logs the Arena Tower side, Goblins on the King Tower side survive and attack. Risky but can activate the King Tower.

Counter Timing

The Goblin Barrel has a 1-second travel time. You must counter AFTER it lands, not during flight:

• The Log/Zap: Wait until Goblins land, then Log immediately. All 3 die instantly.
• Arrows: Kill Goblins on arrival — use before they attack if possible.
• Tornado: Pull Goblins away from the tower — they stop attacking while in motion.

Log Bait Deck

Standard Log Bait: Goblin Barrel, Princess, Goblin Gang, Inferno Tower, Knight, Fireball, Rocket, Tornado.

The goal: cycle Goblin Barrel as many times as possible. With 3.3 AEC, you see the Barrel every ~10 seconds at full elixir.
